Corporate Profile: Wetware Concepts is a University of Padova Spin Off, with institutional members like the Interuniversity Institute of Myology. Its members are researchers from Padua and Rome with interdisciplinary skills in molecular biology, cellular biology, nanotechnology, microelectronics and biosensoring. The R&D team is actually committed in the development of the biosensor Myochip a first model designed for doping compounds detection in human and animal biological samples. The project is supported by the Italian Ministry of Heath.
The company is constituted as an Italian SRL of research and development with a technology platform focused in nanotechnologies linked to electronics systems. The company develops from different expertise  in the field of biology, electronic engineering, biotechnology, chemistry. The target market is the nanobiotechnology field, a sector under strong development at world wide level.

The business concepts: Our business concept aims to set up biosensor arrays based on the innovative approach of detecting compounds in biological samples directly measuring biological events in living cells. These effects are evoked in a specific biological model coupled with a semiconductor in a microchip. Our starting project is MYOCHIP, an open system were the cell model can be adapted and modified, according to specific needs. MYOCHIP is just an example of possible applications. Other research proposals are under development. Two more applications are: TOXOCHIP, designed to detect polluted samples for human professional and natural environment; ONCOCHIP, for a diagnostic screening of carcinogenic compounds in human exposition in different environment (professional, urban, hazard).
